Somizi Mhlongo was born on 23rd December 1972 in Soweto, South Africa. He is a South African choreographer, TV and radio personality. He co hosts the breakfast show with DJ Fresh on Metro FM from 5am to 8am.

Somizi Career

His career began when he was 13 years old when he joined the broadway musical Sarafina! and travelled the world for 5 years with the production. He later went on to star in the film adaptation of Sarafina!, which also became the first big project he choreographed. As a young star he later featured in other acclaimed movies such as Cry, The Beloved Country.

He was the lead choreographer for Miss South Africa from 1998-2008 and then again in 2015. He had his own show on Cliff Central. He helped choreograph the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.

He is also the ambassador for Department of Water and Sanitation and DSTV compact.

He released his memoir titled Dominoes:unbreakable Spirit. He said that he wanted to call the book ‘Ooh Shem’ but the thought was too payful.

“There is a lot more that is covered than what has already been reported in the media. The book is covering the 45-year life of Somizi. Some of it I’d like to think is X-rated, but still fun to read and jaw-dropping.” Mofokeng said.

“We met in July at the exclusive Louis Vuitton and Moet & Chandon event, at which the top 20 customers in Joburg were invited for the launch of the new champagne. He’s physically attractive and is business savvy and mature. And he isn’t in the entertainment industry. I saw him as I walked into the event and was curious about him. It’s obvious that we were both sussing each other out.”

Sources have said the star underwent womb surgery in Brazil, where specialist doctors inserted a female baby-carrying organ in his belly, with baby included.

Mhlongo is said to be very excited with the whole procedure. “He is always feeling for a kick or a sign though it’s still early days”, a friend said. He will be the first African man to fall pregnant. This womb-insertion process is obviously a very complex one. “You have to follow a very strict procedure for about two years then if you happen to find a matching donor, and you then get the womb attached to your body,” the friend stated
